Credit records
CCRIS and CTOS are not the same thing
People use the two names interchangeably, and it costs them. They are different systems run by different organisations.
Bank Negara Malaysia
A central record of your credit facilities and how you have repaid them over the last 12 months. It shows outstanding balances and months in arrears — but it carries no score and no blacklist.
Private credit reporting agency
A commercial report that can include legal action, bankruptcy proceedings and trade references alongside your credit history. This is where a court record would surface.
A few late payments showing in CCRIS is a very different situation from a legal record in CTOS. Both form part of an assessment, and neither one automatically ends an application.
